The Skateboard Foundation

The Skateboarding Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit, is the brainchild of Makeshift® owner Josh Garcia, aimed at giving back through skateboarding. Teaming up Makeshift® with The Skateboarding Foundation is a project dedicated to promoting and developing the skateboard community, focusing on providing equipment, events, and outreach to youth and young adults. Their mission is to empower young people to dream big, offering an alternative outlet now recognized as an Olympic sport. Proceeds from sales, raffles and drawings will support the organization's efforts in the four main disciplines of skateboarding: vert, street, freestyle and park. They strive to provide access to equipment and training, along with opportunities to participate in events and competitions. Additionally, they will host workshops with city officials and local communities to discuss the importance of skatepark maintenance and DIY projects. By nurturing the skateboarding community's growth, the organization aims to inspire a new generation of skateboarders, helping them achieve their aspirations.
